Homecoming & Family Weekend 2024

Explore the world of global education at Guilford College's Alumni Weekend Study Abroad/Away Showcase. Engage with faculty and students as they share insights and stories about the diverse study abroad and away opportunities available at Guilford College. The showcase will feature photos taken by Guilford students and will highlight the transformative impact of international and domestic study experiences through a panel presentation including faculty, students, and the Director of the Office of Global and Off-Campus Initiatives.

The Guilford College Farm encompasses three cultivated acres, including a 5,000-square-foot tunnel enabling year-round production of more than 10,000 pounds of food a year. The Farm serves the greater Guilford community by providing fresh vegetables for the College’s Dining Hall, a student operated farmers market, a steadily growing CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, a few local groceries, and a couple of local restaurants. Come and learn more from the Farm staff. 

Learn about the incredible history of resistance on the land now called the Guilford College woods, upon which Freedom Seekers navigated the Underground Railroad in their efforts toward self-emancipation. This is a hike. The Class of 1964 will celebrate their 60th Reunion at the Bennett Family Farm (313) Bennett Farm Road, Stokesdale, NC. Bert Bennett '64 and Carolyn Kirkman Harmon '64 are planning the 60th events. 

Join classmates and friends on the Founders Patio for drinks and appetizers. The perfect place to reconnect and kick off the weekend! Retired/emeriti faculty and staff will be invited to this event as well. 

Let’s play! Join us for the 2nd Annual Homecoming Pickleball Tournament, open to all Guilford students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of all skill levels. Connect with other members of the Guilford community while playing and watching the game.

Come see the transformation of one of the signature learning space redesign projects of the College's Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) Title III grant. Through additional institutional commitment and the generosity of the Cannon Foundation and the Edward R. Armfield Sr. Foundation, the project was brought to full fruition. An innovative redesign features new and dynamic learning technologies enhancements and unique adjustable tiered seating supportive of active and collaborative learning.

Kick back with classmates and friends and enjoy a cold one. Beer and wine available for purchase. Must be 21+. Taco Bros and the Pearl Kitchen food trucks will be on site with food available for purchase.

Don’t worry kids -  we have fun activities for you too! Come bounce and slide on the inflatables, get a temporary Guilford tattoo, play catch, and win a prize! Kona Ice will be on site from 12:00-2:00 pm. 

Enjoy a guided historical tour of the Quad with Gwen Erickson, Quaker Archivist and Special Collections Librarian. Involves standing and walking on brick walkways and grass lawn (no stairs or inclines). Limited bench seating available at some spots along the way.

Bless Everyone Hearts, hailing from Greensboro, NC, is an Americana and folk music trio born out of the deep-rooted friendships formed on Guilford's campus--in the sunshine, drinking moonshine. John Wilson Irwin '07, Liz Nicholson '12, and Nathan Sebens '07 harmoniously blend their voices and strings to lift up the lyrical wisdom and melodies of songwriters past and present. Slinging tunes and building community, the group creates what some of our youngest fans have called hash-brown music - we hope you enjoy and sing along! This event is sponsored by New Garden, First Friends, Friendship and Jamestown Meetings  and will be held on the lawn outside the Friends Center/Alumni House/Worth House. Bring a chair or blanket and come join us!
