As we approach the 2022 Jewell Robinson Dinner, we hope you will consider helping us achieve a new goal for the Imani Fund, to have 100 people make a gift of any amount to keep the momentum going! The word Imani means faith and belief – something we have in our students as they strive to become global citizens, explore other cultures, and experience a life-changing liberal arts education. Although Goucher does provide assistance for the study abroad experience, many Maryland Scholars students need additional support. Your actions can shape students’ futures, and teach one of life’s most important lessons—global understanding.
The creation of the Imani Fund was inspired by alumnae who came together each year at the Jewell Robinson Dinner. With a desire to support underserved students during their study abroad experiences, the Imani Fund was established in 2014 and endowed in 2016. Since that time, seven Maryland Scholars students have been selected to receive the award. From Africa to Costa Rica, from Paris to Italy, these students have been able to enhance their study abroad experience thanks to the generosity of our donors.
