MOVE/WISE Leadership Trip to DC

This campaign ended on April 30, 2018, but you can still make a gift to Goodwin College by clicking here!

Send 12 more MOVE/WISE students to the Washington D.C. Leadership Trip in 2018!

Goodwin College’s Educational Opportunity Programs provide access, academic support and financial aid to students who show promise in succeeding in college but might not have been otherwise offered admission. Students are provided with the guidance and resources necessary to succeed.

This leadership trip to Washington D.C. serves to expose MOVE/WISE students to new experiences so they can conduct themselves successfully in diverse situations. MOVE/WISE students who consistently exhibit, fulfill and excel in the program requirements are rewarded with exclusive incentives, including this opportunity in the nation's capitol.

MOVE and WISE are committed to empowering students with a sense of belonging and ownership at Goodwin College. This includes helping students engage in enrichment opportunities, develop a sense of shared learning and community and pursue opportunities for personal growth.

Men of Vision in Education (MOVE) seeks to support the academic and personal success of young men from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The program was launched in 2008 with a grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

Women Invested in Securing an Education (WISE) seeks to support the academic and personal success of women from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The program was launched in 2012 with a grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and was based upon the MOVE program. Because of the success of MOVE, Goodwin College created this “sister” program to mirror support for its at-risk female population.
