About

On September 8, 2021, Gonzaga’s official 200th birthday, the school publicly launched its Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign. The most ambitious fundraising effort in Gonzaga’s history, this campaign has been a celebration of our school’s proud history as well as a commitment to continued excellence on Eye Street.

Now, a year and a half later, we are on the cusp of meeting our unprecedented goal of $75 million – a testament and tribute to the dedication, loyalty, and generosity of this Gonzaga community. The campaign will officially close on May 15, the same day students will celebrate Charter Day in St. Aloysius Church.

As we enter this final stretch, we are asking you to help us cross the finish line strong. We have set a goal of 1,821 donors to this campaign during its last two weeks, May 1-15. Our hope with this final push is participation and engagement from every corner of the community. Every one of us – whether current student or alumnus, teacher or parent – has a stake in this institution and plays a part in its success. All gifts of any size will be counted toward our goal of 1,821 donors.

Don’t stand on the sidelines during this extraordinary moment in Gonzaga’s history. Your generosity will impact the lives of our students today and for generations to come. Thank you for making a difference and being a part of Gonzaga’s next 200 years.

Funds raised during the Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign are having an impact on every aspect of the student experience on Eye Street. Because of this campaign, we are growing financial aid for students, investing in our faculty and staff, updating and improving Gonzaga’s campus, and nurturing and growing our Jesuit identity.

When you make your gift, you will have the option to designate where you would like to direct your gift. Thank you for being a part of this historic effort.

Please Support the Sister Seton Cunneen Service Program Fund

Dear Friends of Gonzaga,

In 1994, when Father Lingan was serving as Gonzaga’s Chaplain, he interviewed Sister Seton for a position in Campus Ministry. He asked Sister why she would want to leave her position at a college to work with high school boys. Sister answered, “Because here I can make a bigger difference.”

For the next 20 years, Sr. Seton Cunneen, SNDdeN brought thousands of Gonzaga young men face-to-face with the poor and marginalized. In doing so, they learned life-forming habits of the heart belonging to men for others. (Is there a bigger difference that that?) Through her exemplary devotion, leadership, and love, Sr. Seton reminded us that the spirit and teachings of Ignatius Loyola are at the core of a Gonzaga Jesuit education.

Among the top priorities of the Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign is the Igantian Identity Initiative to raise $7.5 million in endowed funds to support and grow Gonzaga’s service and retreat programs. Quite appropriately, included within that initiative is the Sister Seton Cunneen Service Program Fund. The goal for Sister’s Fund is $1 million.

The historic Forever Gonzaga Campaign ends in just a few days.  We are asking that you consider making “a bigger difference” to help future generations of Gonzaga sons to become Men for Others by supporting the fund in Sister Seton’s name.

In order for your gift to be directed towards Sister’s Fund, please select “The Sister Seton Cunneen Service Program Fund” as your designation when making your gift. Thank you for your generosity, and for perpetuating and growing the legacy of Sister Seton on Eye Street.

Do it For Lee

When sharing ideas about what Coach Kelly would have said to motivate us to dig deep to make the final push for victory, we came up with a lot of good examples. Unfortunately, none are suitable for print!

But this we can say proudly and with confidence: Coach Kelly was selfless. What set him apart was his personal commitment to each of us to succeed to the best of our abilities. No student was ever left off a Lee Kelly-coached Gonzaga Rugby team. Now it’s our turn to honor Coach Kelly’s legacy and perform to the best of our abilities.

The Lee Kelly Endowed Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to deserving students while emphasizing the values of teamwork and commitment to excellence. Part of Gonzaga’s overall endowment, the scholarship was created as part of the historic Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign. In order to grow the fund and encourage participation in the campaign, an anonymous donor has offered to give $25,000 if 200 people make a gift to the fund in Coach Kelly’s name between now and when the campaign officially ends on May 15th.  In order for your gift to be applied to this challenge, select "The Lee Kelly Endowed Fund" as your designation when making your gift.

It’s now time for each of us—to the best of our abilities—to honor Coach Kelly by supporting his scholarship and bringing victory for Gonzaga and future generations of Eagles.

Sincerely,

Owen Sheehy ‘18 and Ryan Ebel ‘18 on behalf of Gonzaga Rugby

Paying Tribute to a True Man for Others

As part of Gonzaga’s Bicentennial anniversary, a group of devoted alumni from the 1980s rallied around the scholarship fund that was established years ago to remember and celebrate the life of Keith-Sean Lindsey '84. This group set out to double the fund’s size – from $500,000 to $1 million. Because of their extraordinary generosity, the fund, which offers tuition assistance to sons of African American Gonzaga alumni, now stands at $832,000.

To reach that goal of $1 million before the campaign closes, a member of the Class of 1984 has generously offered to match every gift that comes into the fund in Keith-Sean’s name between now and May 15 dollar for dollar up to $84,000.

So, please, watch this video, and then make your gift to the Keith-Sean Lindsey Endowed Scholarship Fund today.  In order for your gift to be applied to this challenge, select "The Keith-Sean Lindsey Endowed Fund" as your designation when making your gift. Thank you for your generosity, and for remembering and perpetuating Keith-Sean's legacy on Eye Street.
