Help the DC Area Health Education Center (AHEC) at Georgetown University Medical Center address the need to increase diversity in health care professions and improve primary care workforce distribution in underserved areas!

The DC AHEC at Georgetown University Medical Center aims to train multidisciplinary AHEC Scholars to deliver high quality care to underserved communities. The mission of DC AHEC at GUMC is to meet health workforce needs and improve the health of the public of the District of Columbia. The program provides: 1) scholarships for interprofessional students committed to primary care; 2) pipeline programs and mentorship by practicing primary care clinicians; 3) longitudinal community-based learning and clinical experience in underserved settings; and 4) leadership training, research and education on health disparities and health equity.

Your support will go directly towards providing scholarships, mentorship, longitudinal community-based learning and clinical exposure for high school, pre-medical, medical, and nursing students committed to primary care. The DC AHEC at Georgetown University Medical Center strives to equip next-generation primary care leaders with the tools they need to address health disparities.
