FHU Challenge 2020 Veterans Scholarship
Become an advocate and show your support today!
FHU Family--you’ve been issued a bigger and bolder challenge! Today, when you and 749 others make a gift during FHU Challenge 2020, anonymous donors will make a $150,000 gift to benefit FHU students.
As one of the programs participating in the FHU Challenge, the Veteran Resource Office is raising money for the FHU Veteran’s Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship fund only lacks $10,000 to reach the initial endowment level and begin awarding a scholarship to help student Veterans with their FHU education.
Student Veterans face unique challenges when pursuing their education. Student veterans are typically non-traditional students who are often balancing families and full-time jobs as they try to pursue their education. Approximately 30% - 40% of veterans do not complete degree granting programs – primarily due to financial responsibilities. Although VA educational benefits are helpful, they aren’t enough to fully fund a university experience like one at FHU. Our hope is that the Veteran Endowed Scholarship will help ease the financial burden for student Veterans and attract more of this population to our university.
To help meet the FHU Challenge and move this scholarship closer to assisting student Veterans, today the Veteran Resource Office has a goal of raising at least $5,000 for this scholarship. Will you make a gift today to support the Veteran’s Endowed Scholarship?
