We are overwhelmed. Thank you, EHS alumni and community members, for helping us show the Class of 2020—and our younger students, faculty, and staff—that Episcopal's 24/7 support system extends beyond the Holy Hill.
The power of Episcopal's alumni network cannot be underestimated.
Old friendships endure through moves, marriages, children, career changes, sickness, triumph, loss, and now pandemic. New friendships and mentorships emerge between Old Boys and Girls who graduated years or decades apart. And as long as the School's mission endures, Episcopal alumni continue to provide support for the students who are following in their footsteps.
During this time, Roll Call support from our alumni and extended community is more critical than ever. You have helped us raise over a quarter million dollars that will directly benefit Episcopal's faculty, staff, and most importantly students. Every individual in our extended community is experiencing upheaval in their life right now; to see this show of support under these circumstances is incredibly humbling.
Thanks to you, we have surpassed our 1,000 donor goal and received over $50,000 in matching gifts from these thirteen alumni:
Joe Alala ’88 (Chair)
Cameron Baker ’11
Jeff Clarke ’89
John Hooff ’95
Gray McNair King ’96
David Maybank ’90
Patrick Mealy ’09
Ginny Moore ’03
Stephen Shuford ’87
Leah Kannensohn Tennille ’01
Helen Grassi Vest ’03
Darren Willcox ’89
Chris Williams ’06
If you haven't participated yet, you can still help! Be part of Episcopal students’ support system, and make a gift to the Roll Call today.
The School has been able to adapt to distance learning with creativity and confidence thanks in large part to the generosity and care of our alumni, parents, families, faculty, staff, and friends. Thank you for being there for our students. We are incredibly grateful!
Wait ✋ ... what is the Roll Call again?!
- Donations to the Roll Call—Episcopal’s annual fund—are immediate-use dollars which help this year’s students.
- These donations will account for a full 10% of the School’s operating budget this year.
- Over half of the School’s operating expenses are salary and benefits for our amazing faculty and staff. Supporting our people is our number one priority, and our highest fixed cost.
- While savings from virtual learning, like the costs of food and weekend activities, are being passed along to our current families, we must maintain robust Roll Call support to ensure that our incredible team of educators remains strong.
We are incredibly grateful for the energy and generosity that our community has shown this week! Thank you for helping us surpass our goal, support our students, and secure over $50,000 in matching gifts. Go, High School!

To the incredible 750+ Episcopal High School alumni and community members who have contributed to the Roll Call during this challenge, thank you. We still have $50 matching gifts available for up to 250 more donors!
During a time when our lives have all been upended and each individual is facing their own uncertainties and challenges, it is incredible to see this number of outstretched helping hands.
We are beyond privileged to have this support system.
Our students, faculty, and staff are working hard to continue delivering both our academic program and our strong sense of community. Every dollar helps us provide the resources they need now and to ensure that we will come out on the other side of this crisis even stronger than before.
Shout out to the Class of 2020: 59 seniors have made their first-ever gifts to the Roll Call! We are in awe.
Let's keep it up - challenge is still on until midnight EST on Tuesday, April 28! Spread the word, and keep being there for each other.
