Jennie Gibbs was a special Eagle, an amazing colleague, and an inspiration to generations of students at Embry-Riddle. For more than 26 years, she tirelessly devoted her time and energy to students and faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
A student advocate first and foremost, Jennie loved working with students and watching them succeed in their studies. Whether ordering supplies for the latest student project or helping make the dean’s suite a welcome place for all who entered, Jennie consistently went above and beyond to ensure that “her students” had every opportunity to be at their best.
Jennie truly made her mark. She was one of those people whom students always remember after they leave ERAU. They—and we—will never forget her.
Our Goal
The College of Engineering would like to ensure that Jennie’s legacy continues to be honored. Our first goal is to raise $2,500 to name a Bench on campus on Jennie’s honor and provide funds towards a general scholarship offered at ERAU. If we raise $9,000 we will establish the Jennie Gibbs Term Scholarship allowing us to award a one-time scholarship for 3 years to deserving students. Ultimately, if we raise $25,000 to fully endow a scholarship we will establish the Jennie Gibbs Memorial Scholarship for future generations of students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
How You Can Help
With your gift of support in creating this scholarship, we can honor our friend and colleague and even more importantly, make a positive, daily impact on the lives of students—just as Jennie did for 26+ years.
Please help us honor Jennie and support “her students” with your contribution today.

There is still more you can do! We are very happy for the support so far and grateful to be so close to reaching our second goal of $9000 to establish a term scholarship in Jenni’s name. The more we raise, the bigger the fund allocation for our deserving Mechanical Engineering students will be! Lets continue to spread the word in the last few hours by showing our support and grow this scholarship even more!
