EM #13 Equipment Room Endowment

Ed Mizinski (BS76) has been a driving force in supporting the Athletic Equipment Department at Eastern Michigan University for many years. Ed, a former letter-winner and standout football player at EMU, has devoted much of his life and career to public service and has always understood the integral role the support staff plays in the overall success of an athletic department. 

To honor the tradition of his annual support of EMU and its sports programs, we are seeking to grow an endowed fund named in his honor - the EM #13 Equipment Room Endowment. The funds generously given to this endowment will be used on many of the same things Ed and other generous equipment donors in the past have helped facilitate. The focus will be on needed items that may not fit into the annual operating budget. These items directly impact the success of the equipment staff and student managers' goal of supporting student-athletes. 

Past items purchased with donor support include:

• Workbench table and storage
• Toolbox and equipment
• Utility trailer for field set up
• Travel trunks
• Football brush machine 
• Apparel heat press
• Inventory scanner and label machine
• Casual meals for student managers

These and many other initiatives funded over the years have made a huge impact in EMU Athletics. The staff has been able to provide a higher level of service for all student-athletes at Eastern Michigan because of this support. The purchases made with these funds also help offset the equipment budget as a whole, creating the ability to accept more student managers into the program.
