The BathHouse Events Live Series is an integral part of the Creative Writing Program at
Eastern Michigan University. The series showcases innovative approaches to writing,
improvised and interactive performances, exhibits, and collaborations, as well as
discussions on the role of art in contemporary life.
All events are free and open to the public.
Recently, BathHouse has featured Edwin Torres, Jonah Mixon-Webster, LaTasha N.
Nevada Diggs, Nathaniel Mackey, Ted Pearson, Dawn Lundy Martin, CA Conrad,
Miranda Mellis, Robert Glück.
On February 19 we will present Tom Comitta. Comitta’s fiction has appeared in WIRED, Los Angeles Review of Books, Lit Hub, Kenyon Review, and Best American Experimental Writing (2020).
It would be hard to exaggerate the value of Bathhouse to our community and to our
students, as it offers models of living, breathing, and embodied writing, and the
opportunity to learn from writers practicing their art in a wide range of contexts and
forms.
It’s also no exaggeration to say that in times like these, programming like this can use
all the help and support it can get. Please help us continue this tradition of excellence
by supporting this effort. With your support, we can continue to provide this experience
to our students and the extended community.
