We have had so many donors ask if they can still get a pair of Drury socks that we are extending the deadline through the end of the year! Make your gift today!

DU it for the students - DU it for the socks! As a thank you for making your gift early in the academic year, we have a special gift for donors supporting the Annual Drury Experience Fund and unrestricted fund (area of greatest need).

All donors will get a Drury pennant decal, but for qualifying* gifts, we are sending donors limited edition Drury logo dress socks as a thank you gift! Quantities are limited, so don’t delay! Please see below for frequently asked questions and full program details!

We will order more socks based on donations in December; the new batch of socks should mail out in February. The socks for donors that made their qualifying* gift before November 15, 2018 will be mailed out in late November as scheduled.

Drury Socks - Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I get socks?

• Make a qualifying* gift to the Annual Drury Experience Fund or unrestricted fund!  Leadership Society donors making qualifying* gifts will receive two pairs of socks in addition to the recognition at the appropriate Leadership Society. Donors making a qualifying* gift of $200 or more will receive two pairs of socks, and those giving $100 will receive one pair. While the minimum gift is $100, please remember that all funds benefit Drury students and your gift is important!

What is a qualifying* gift?

• *A qualifying gift is a gift to the Annual Drury Experience Fund or unrestricted fund (area of greatest need) of a minimum of $100. Donors of $100 will receive one pair and donors of $200 or more will receive two pairs. If another donor has issued a matching gift, it will not impact your *qualifying gift amount. The sock incentive is based on your gift amount. 

What if I want to make payments?  What if I already made a gift and want to increase it so I can get the socks?

• As long as you have made qualifying* gifts that total $100 or more after June 1, 2018 and on or before December 31, 2018, you will receive the appropriate number of socks. For example, if you gave $50 in June and give another $50 now, you will get socks. You may make your gift over the phone, through the mail or online. You may write a check, use a credit card or even make a gift of appreciated stock (please call us if you want to make a stock transfer).  

I cannot find the fund I would like to make my gift to?

• The 2018 Drury socks campaign exclusively benefits the Annual Drury Experience Fund and unrestricted fund. The Annual Drury Experience Fund supports scholarships and financial aid while the unrestricted fund benefits the area of greatest need.  If you would like to make your gift to a different fund, please visit www.alumni.drury.edu/giving. We welcome all gifts, but the socks are a special effort to increase participation in the Annual Drury Experience Fund.

I would like to get more socks. Who can I contact?

• Right now we are limiting socks to two pairs per household, but if you need additional socks, please contact Melanie Earl at (417) 873-7444 or mearl@drury.edu. If you claim more socks through incentives during the campaign, you will still need to contact Melanie. 

I just mailed in my gift/made a gift over the phone and didn’t know about the socks. Can I still get them?

• Yes!  If you made a qualifying* gift to the Annual Drury Experience Fund or unrestricted of $100 or more after June 1, 2018 and before December 31, 2018, you will be on the list.

What size and materials are the socks?

• The socks are unisex and fit most sizes. They are dress style, thinner socks and similar to the very popular “crazy” socks. They are made of 80% cotton, 15% microfiber and 5% nylon.  

How long until I get my socks?

• We will order more socks based on donations in December; the new batch of socks should mail out in February. The socks for donors that made their qualifying gift before November 15, 2018 will be mailed out in late November as scheduled.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

• Yes, using IRS guidelines, the sock value is below the threshold. Your gift is tax-deductible, but you may always consult a tax professional.
