About

Make a life-changing difference for students in YOUR hometown.

With record enrollment, we're proud that students from across the country and around the world are selecting Drury as their university, but we'll never stray from our original commitment to the youth of our local communities.

Drury offers dual credit classes through 120 partner schools across Missouri. These classes...

  • Allow students to have their first taste of college, and experience a wide range of courses not available at their high school.
  • Build student confidence within families that often have no college tradition.
  • Encourage top students who excel in their dual credit classes to continue their education at Drury University.

Dual credit classes are offered at a discount from traditional college courses, but for many students and their families, the costs are still an insurmountable barrier.

While the State of Missouri began offering dual credit scholarship funds for classes offered by Drury and other Missouri universities last year, the application process requires prepayment and often results in surprise bills that few low-income families or small rural schools can cover. Ultimately, the students who would benefit most are often unable to enroll.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors, with the Support of a Generous Matching Donor

With the help of a generous lead gift from alumnus Robert Wheeler, 1979, The Drury Dual Credit Panther Scholarship will provide scholarships to these students. The best part? Your gift to the participating school of your choice can be matched, dollar-for-dollar. That's right--your impact on your neighborhood students can be DOUBLED!

To make these scholarships a reality, WE NEED YOU! For many students, these classes are the genesis of their dreams of higher education and a path to a brighter future. Together, we can generate hundreds of new dual credit scholarships for students. Make no mistake, your gift could be a life-changing opportunity for someone who dreams of a world-class college education.

What Does Your Gift Do?

When matched, your gift of...

  • $42 provides the equivalent of one credit hour for a dual credit scholar.
  • $125 provides a full dual credit course for a Dual Credit Scholar.
  • $250 provides six credit hours--that's TWO full classes!
  • $500 provides 12-15 credit hours. That's the equivalent of a full semester's worth of college credits!

Dual enrollment courses are among the most affordable ways for students to earn college credit and they are proven to promote college degree attainment. Eighty-eight percent of students who take dual enrollment courses in high school go on to attend college by the age of 20 (National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, 2017).

Despite the reduced cost for dual enrolment classes, the costs can still be insurmountable for some students. In conversations with area superintendents and high school principals, it has been determined that modest scholarships would help bridge the gap and make dual enrollment possible for more of our area's best and brightest high school students.
