About

Extend a lifeline to students in need.

Doane is known for close, supportive relationships while a student is on campus and long after graduation. Our students are busy in and out of the classroom with classes, cocurricular activities, work, service/organizations. But sometimes, life’s circumstances take the focus away from school. Through the generosity of supporters—including faculty and staff—and funding from the school, the Doane Student Emergency Fund is there for students in need. Extraordinary circumstances like natural disasters, an unhealthy living situation or a death in the family can be hard to process while also managing the daily responsibilities of being a Doane student.

The Doane Student Emergency Assistance Fund is being created to assist students on all our campuses (Crete, Lincoln, Omaha) who have unexpected financial needs. Those needs can include:

  • Help to pay for college-related expenses following a sudden loss of income
  • Funding for clothing, school supplies or computers for students who lost housing to a fire, flood, natural disaster or other emergency
  • Assist with the cost of airfare for a student who needs to travel home due to family emergency
  • Provide transportation to a nearby doctor's appointment for those without cars
  • Living expenses to make a transition or move out of an unhealthy living situation
