About

CHALLENGE ACHIEVED - SEE UPDATES SECTION BELOW FOR DETAILS! THANK YOU, DONORS!

Education has the power to effect change.

The murder of George Floyd and the subsequent civil unrest have once again revealed the deep-seeded legacy of racial oppression in the United States. Our alumni have asked how they can support and empower current students as they develop as leaders and change-makers, both immediately and well into the future. Supporting students as they chart their own paths toward making our world a better, more antiracist place, is the most direct, immediate way you can help Davidson students effect change.

Davidson College believes fundamentally in the dignity and worth of every human being, and we are committed to assisting students in developing humane instincts and disciplined and creative minds for lives of leadership and service. These skills allow our students to make a difference today and to continue this important work as alumni.

All that we do is grounded in these foundational values, and we are constantly striving to affirm them through the experiences and opportunities we provide our students. It is not only about learning; it is also about taking action. We know that our courageous and talented students can have a disproportionate impact for good—not only on our campus, but in their communities and around the globe.

In adding “Diversity & Inclusion” as an option for giving through The Fund for Davidson, we invite our Wildcat alumni to join us in taking action to foster a more inclusive and antiracist campus environment for student populations that have been underrepresented at Davidson. Gifts to this designation will help further educational programming and community-building opportunities, including critical antiracist efforts. Simply put, your gift allows Davidson students to have a meaningful impact in a world that needs them now.

Additional priority funding areas, linked above, promote inclusivity, equity and diversity on campus. You can make a gift to any of these initiatives through the “Give Now” button above, and you can learn more about each impact area by clicking the individual campaigns. The donors, dollars and advocates displayed on this page represent all gifts to these five funds.

Education expands viewpoints and promotes asking the hard questions. We need this more than ever now and Davidson College seeks to be a leader in taking action. This is how we do better. Your gift, to any of these initiatives, makes our campus better and allows students to make change. We are grateful for your partnership as we work together toward a more just future; a more just Davidson.

To make a gift through the standard online gift form visit www.davidson.edu/makeagift or call 704-894-2680. Checks can be mailed to Box 7170, Davidson, NC 28035.

Challenge Opportunity

We are pleased to share a challenge issued by President Carol Quillen and Alison Hall Mauzé ’84, Chair of the Board of Trustees, to increase the impact of gifts made to Davidson for the remainder of this month.

The challenge states that:

  • For every alumni donor who makes a gift—of any size, to any designation on campus—for the first time this year (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020), our challengers will give $25 to support The Power of Education: Supporting Students & Antiracism at Davidson campaign.
  • In addition, if 2,500 new alumni donors make a gift to Davidson before the end of June, our challengers will donate an additional $50,000 to the important initiatives outlined in this campaign.

Education is a critical tool during this moment, and the work for and with our students at Davidson must continue. Your support positions our graduates to be leaders in making our world a better place. Please take advantage of this challenge and amplify the impact of your gift before the fiscal year ends on June 30.

To make a gift to another area of campus please visit www.davidson.edu/makeagift or call 704-894-2680.

Matching funds will be added in to the total dollars of this campaign and we will provide updates on the total new donor count on this page daily. There may be a slight delay as gifts are recorded.
