Keefer Dean Babbitt, CFA graduated from the David Eccles School of Business in 2015 with a degree in Finance. While at the University of Utah, he cultivated lifelong friendships and held leadership roles with the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and the Student Investment Fund. Keefer balanced his busy collegiate schedule with an internship at Grandeur Peak Global Advisors that turned into an extraordinarily successful nine-year career; he achieved a top position as Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst. Keefer earned his Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and traveled the world.
Keefer was happy, kind, smart, and he loved to make people laugh with his quick fun sense of humor. He made everyone feel welcome. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend who was always looking out for others, generous with his time, and first to be a mentor.
Keefer passed away in January 2021. He is survived by his wife Riley, daughter Ivy, extended family, and many friends. This scholarship will be an evergreen tribute to the light Keefer brought to our community.
The Keefer Dean Babbitt scholarship will be administered by the David Eccles School of Business. Contributions may also be made to a 529 College Savings Account for Keefer’s daughter Ivy at https://gift.my529.org/5C1WY6
