Establishing the Bill Moore Doctoral Student Scholarship Fund
As many of you know, Professor Bill Moore retired a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, Bill faced some health challenges at that time, and we never got to get together and say a proper "Thank you" to this remarkable man who did so much for all of us and is responsible for who we are today. After Bill got better, COVID-19 put the Product and Service Innovation Conference on hold, and once again, we failed to celebrate his much-deserved retirement properly.
Not only is Bill one of the most brilliant and innovative people, but he is also one of the most thoughtful and caring professors. He is always there for his students: he was the person who invited me to participate in my first research and consulting projects, spent countless hours guiding me through my dissertation, helped me prepare for the job market, and continued nurturing me as a scholar for many years after my graduation.
In my work today, I always go the extra mile for my students because Bill has shaped how I approach teaching; I see my students as thought partners and future colleagues. I don’t think I could ever repay Bill for everything he has done for me. Still, I would like to give future New Product and Service Development scholars at the Eccles School a chance to continue being supported by Bill even after his retirement.
With that in mind, my husband and I would like to start an endowed Bill Moore Doctoral Student Innovation Research Fund that will support New Product and Service-focused doctoral students at the Eccles School with an annual merit-based scholarship. We ask you, Bill’s former students, to support this fund. No donation is too small, and sharing this message with other people who might want to contribute would be greatly appreciated.
