COVID Aid Grants for Students

Here at Cornish we are excited to begin the 2020-2021 academic year, however, every day we speak to students who want to be at Cornish for the start of classes but are falling just short of this goal due to new hardships related to the impact COVID-19.

Their stories reflect a broad range of hardships: a family dealing with the expense and challenges of COVID; unemployment due to the family’s small businesses closing; a parent making the difficult decision to quit a job to provide childcare; each student has a unique situation brought on by the shared hardship of a global pandemic.

What is most remarkable is how, despite these challenges, many students are still very close to meeting their costs. With a relatively modest gift, they could continue their education. In order to try to meet the needs of as many students as possible, we have established this COVID Aid Grant Campaign.

Of those students who have registered and want to enroll at Cornish but are struggling to meet their total cost of attending, 38 owe less than $5,000.

On August 20th, President Tymas-Jones shared this urgent need with the Board of Trustees.  At this time, five trustees immediately agreed to make a generous donation of $10,000 each for a combined total of $50,000 thus far.

Will you donate today to help meet the emergency needs of students at Cornish?
