Who We Are

We are DiggerLoop, a team of 25 undergraduate students from Colorado School of Mines working to develop a Hyperloop Pod that could change the world of transportation!

What is Hyperloop?

Hyperloop is a mode of transport that propels a pod through a low-pressure tube at theoretical speeds of up to 760 mph. The low air resistance allows the pod to travel faster than conventional modes of transportation.

SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition

In order to accelerate the development of functional prototypes and encourage student innovation, SpaceX announced the Hyperloop Pod Competition in 2015, which challenges university teams to design and build the best transport Pod. Based on the successes of the first two competitions, SpaceX has moved forward with the third installment which will take place on July 22, 2018. The competition will focus on a single criterion - maximum speed. Additionally all pods must be self-propelled. To learn more about SpaceX and the Hyperloop, click here. You can also check out the rules and requirements of this year's competition here.

DiggerLoop is one of 20 teams world-wide that has advanced to the final stage of the 2017-18 SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition in July 2018.

Our goal is to have the top-performing design in the competition and to help develop a transportation system that could potentially change the world. You can help us do both!

Your Support

One of the most critical components of the pod - the chassis (see 3D model rendering below) - costs nearly $3,000. This framework connects all of the subsystems of the pod, the shell, drive wheel, pressure vessels, braking system and more. Without the this framework, there is no pod, so your gift of any size will help us purchase the chassis and other pieces critical to the redesign, fabrication and testing.

Thank you in advance for your support of DiggerLoop and our dream of winning the 2017-18 Hyperloop Competition!
