The Impact You Can Make for a #LeadFreeCLE

Lead poisoning is a serious issue within Cleveland city limits.  Studies indicate 13% of school-age children show elevated levels of exposure to lead, with some neighborhoods experiencing rates as high as 25%.

The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, working with community partners, is leading an awareness and fundraising campaign to screen children in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for lead poisoning.  Our goal is to raise enough funds to provide outreach, education and services to 65 elementary schools - $5,165 is enough to cover the costs for one school. Gifts of every amount are appreciated and will be put toward immediate use.

You can learn more about FPB's involvement in this critical initiative: Cleveland Schools Lead Screening Project and How You Can Help. Here’s a look at the impact your gift can have for a #LeadFreeCLE:

$6: Pediatric Lead Screening Supplies for 1 child

$26: Parent Information Supplies for 1 session

$108: Written Notifications to Parents of Lead Screening Results for 2 schools

$600: Pediatric Lead Screening Supplies for 1 school

$5,165: Lead Screening Parent Education - Outreach Program & Family Post-Screening Healthy Next Steps for 1 school.
