About

Giving Tuesday occurs each year, just a few days after Thanksgiving. It’s a global day of giving fueled by our collective generosity. It is about creating a culture of philanthropy, gratitude, and giving back.

Giving Tuesday is about bringing together all those who love Case Western Reserve University to show that collectively small gifts can make a big difference on our campus.

At CWRU, we have learned there is no greater gift than working with people who share a commitment to making a difference and thinking beyond the possible.

We proudly support our student groups, organizations, and causes which mean the most to us and make a difference in our community. This Giving Tuesday,  join us in this CWRU giving tradition and support the fund that is most important to you. Your participation helps power the future at CWRU.

This year's causes:

Thank You!

We have gone above and beyond our goals for Giving Tuesday! We want to thank everyone for showing support and giving back to a cause that's important to you!

The Undergraduate Student Nurses Association

We work to support the Frances Payne Bolton BSN program candidates through motivational events, alumni networking, and student advocacy to the nursing administration. We also strive to influence nursing policy through attendance at the National Student Nurses’ Association conference where we present field-relevant policy resolutions in front of other school chapters and nursing leadership figures. With additional funds, USNA could expand on our support of our students through greater involvement in supporting initiatives related to transportation to and from clinical/community settings, higher-quality morale boosting events, and have a greater involvement in giving back to the community.

Period.

Period.'s mission is to work towards ending menstrual inequity. Education is crucial in our work. We aim to destigmatize menstruation through awareness campaigns and programs. Advocacy is another key pillar. We advocate for laws that make menstrual products accessible and promote comprehensive menstrual education. Lastly, community outreach is a big part of our organization. We address immediate needs by providing menstrual products to those facing period poverty. We create and distribute menstrual product packs to marginalized communities, schools, and shelters, ensuring that individuals have what they need while raising awareness.

We are a growing club, and hope to provide more opportunity for our members with each season.

CWRU Boxing Club Looks to Leave It's Mark!

We here at the boxing club believe boxing is so much more than just fighting; it's a sport, and it's an art. Our boxers have been working hard to hone their skills and become legitimate athletes, so what better way is there to showcase their efforts than by putting on a show? On December 2nd, the boxing club will be hosting a charity fight night where club members will take part in controlled sparring sessions to test their mettle. Proceeds from the event will benefit Team 216 of the Fairfax Recreation Center in East Cleveland. Here, kids in the area have a place to box, keeping them off the streets and giving them direction. The club has a great relationship with Team 216, and Case student and current Cleveland Golden Gloves champion "Mad" Max Hudak won his second title fighting under their colors. In order to make this event happen, our club needs plenty of capital to rent a ring and cover other expenses, but with your help, we know it will be a knockout. Let's box!

Dance Along with SpartanTHON!

SpartanTHON is a student-run fundraising organization at Case Western Reserve University. We fundraise all year for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Rainbow Babies and Children’s. All our funds go towards services and items for families that insurance does not cover, such as preemie diapers or music therapy. Our biggest fundraiser is our annual dance marathon, where we stand for 12 hours to honor the average shift of a nurse at the hospital. Last year we raised over $27,000, and this year we hope to raise even more. Our organization is growing its presence on campus, and we also host several other fundraising events throughout the year.

Last year, the Case Aeronautics Team participated in the 2023 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Design, Build, Fly competition. The goal was to design and manufacture a radio controlled aircraft that could replicate electronic warfare challenges. The team worked diligently to incorporate engineering principles and remain within the competition’s constraints while still producing an effective aircraft. During the manufacturing process, the team experimented with multiple different manufacturing techniques including the use of CNC laser cutters, 3D printed pieces, fiber glassing and creating a CNC foam cutter for the wings and tail.

Smash Giving Tuesday with The CWRU Tennis Club!

The CWRU Tennis Club works with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and communicates with other college club tennis teams to arrange tournament and scrimmage opportunities for players. We play at the Carlton Courts when weather permits and rent courts for players indoors during the winter months. We offer beginner clinics for those hoping to learn the fundamentals of tennis and hoping to gain more experience in the sport, and we travel around the country to different tournaments, in the hopes of qualifying for the USTA Tennis on Campus Nationals. We hope to unite the tennis players on campus and provide opportunities for them to regularly play tennis while in college.

This is the time of year to showcase our amazing students as they participate in the global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

Your philanthropy helps student groups like our Medical Technology Group. They are dedicated to promoting design and entrepreneurship education by providing students with hands-on experience in generating solutions to medical problems while meeting relevant clinical needs through designing, prototyping, and consulting. MTG is seeking your help to sponsor a group of passionate students to attend a biomedical conference in Spring 2024. This opportunity would allow students to gain valuable insight into the world of medical devices, expand their networks in the biotech industry, and explore potential job opportunities.
