Thank you to each and every community member who made this first Giving Day such a success! Our hearts are so full, and we're so grateful for the support to supply the tools our teachers and students need to learn and grow through your gifts to the Annual Fund. Go Green!
I attended CFS from 1st through 12th grades, and it was the most formative educational experience of my life. The experiences I had there, and the life-long friends I made with both my classmates and my teachers, are too numerous to list here, but I will note two data points that I think might be significant:
-During my time there, I twice had the opportunity to visit France with Susan M. Kincaid's French class. Now, 15 years (!!!!) after graduating, I live there. (Present, 23-days-and-counting excursion to Eastern Europe notwithstanding.)
-Sophomore year I was casting about for something to do for my “End of Year Experience,” when Wilhelmina Korver Rotella (“Willy”) suggested I might like taking photos for the local paper. The rest, as they say, is history and now it’s what I do for a living.
This school lets students explore their dreams and interests in a small-classroom non-traditional learning environment. Today, they are having a “Giving Day,” please consider joining me in donating.

"Nearly 22 years after graduating from CFS, what causes me to still care so much about this school and this community can be captured in the word “home.” It doesn’t matter where in the world I’m living, or what I’m up to, or how well I’m doing, Carolina Friends School always feels like home. Through the fellow Friends I’m still so closely connected to, the principles that still guide me, the memories that still inspire me, or just a quiet sense of peace and spirituality inside of me, this place never stops providing me with a feeling of unconditional love that can only come from home."
Thank you, Mike!
It is the passion and dedication of the people in this community that make it such an incredible place to learn, work, and play!2062 days ago by Katherine Scott
