About

You have the power to energize Joyful Noise today!

Joyful Noise is CMU’s Christian a cappella group. Formed in October 1993, we sing a cappella songs in styles ranging from hymns to popular songs. Our mission is to share the truth and joy of the gospel through music. By giving to Joyful Noise, you can support our mission!

We sing primarily within the CMU community, but we also go out to the greater Pittsburgh community. Once a year, we join other collegiate Christian a cappella groups for an annual gathering and concert called “Break It Down.” This year, we are raising funds to travel to California for Break It Down Stanford in the spring. We are currently in need of $1100-$2000 of additional funds for this travel.

We are also raising funds for our annual fall retreat which we value as a time to welcome new JN members while carrying on old JN traditions, preparing us for the upcoming year! We don’t receive any funds from CMU due to general restrictions on funding for retreat.

State project fundraising goal (an amount between $2,000 - $10,000). $2,000. Funds will be spent on Break It Down in the spring, and Retreat in the next fall. Any unused funds will be used for other group activities or kept for the following year. We will also pursue special allocation funding for Break It Down Stanford in case we do not meet our fundraising goal.

Giving CMU Day is your chance to illuminate the next bright idea in Joyful Noise! 💡
