Here at SCS, we turn to the SCS Dean's Innovation Fund to quickly support new ideas that emerge during the year that aren't covered by the operational budget or research grants. Your gift to this fund gives our dean the flexibility and speed to respond to unexpected needs, challenges and opportunities or to improve the quality of life for graduate and undergraduate students.
Over the past few years, we’ve used gifts to this current use fund to: establish the world’s first artificial intelligence undergraduate major; develop and deploy a new online teaching platform during the COVID-19 pandemic; fund cutting edge projects in haptics and soft manipulator robots; and launch the groundbreaking AI-driven Biomedical Research Center (AI4BIO).
