You have the power to energize Carnegie Mellon University today!
Started in 1908 by a group of seven students dedicated to supporting Carnegie Tech football, the Kiltie Band continues a tradition of excellence originated over a century ago by wearing kilts, acting crazy and having lots of fun!
At the core of our history is the long tenure of alumnus and Kiltie Band Director, Paul Gerlach (CFA 1967, 1968, 1972), who served in this role for almost 40 years. Because of his impact on so many students, in the fall of 2021 a group of alumni started an initiative to create the Paul Gerlach Kiltie Band Fund to support the general needs of the band.
To exist in perpetuity, $50,000 or more must be raised to fully endow the fund. To date, $33,000 in gifts and commitments have been given in Paul’s honor. Reaching the goal is a number one priority for the band. Our goal is to secure 50 donors to support the fund to help us establish this endowment and illuminate both the band’s history and its future!
Please consider a gift of any size. Give what you can and encourage your friends to participate. For this giving day – 24 Hours of Tartan Power – that’s just over 2 donors per hour from our alumni and friends. We can do this! 💡
