The Carleton community consistently demonstrates the power of collective impact, so we're stretching our goals! Donor participation is an important component of the Annual Fund, and it helps illustrate the strength and commitment of the alumni network.

Student Research Partnerships (SRPs) give Carleton students the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on substantive areas of their research.

This summer, the Humanities Center is supporting 12 faculty-student research partnerships on campus and abroad. Gifts to the Annual Fund help enable these research opportunities and the scholarship advances they promote.

Mental health is an important factor in a positive and fulfilling college experience. Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) provides more than 2,500 free mental health counseling appointments for Carleton students each academic year to serve this need. 

To provide additional support for Carleton’s BIPOC students, SHAC recently hired two therapists who are multicultural specialists. Lucy Baquero Oja ’09, MA, LMFT and Kenneth Hanna, MSW, LICSW, MBA (pictured above) also help lead the BIPOC Mental Health Collective for students of color.

Big news: a generous Carleton alum is boosting gifts to the Annual Fund! Starting today (6/21) at 12pm CT, every gift will unlock an extra $100 for Carleton. Make your gift before matching funds run out!

Challenge Details:

• Matching funds will be available for the first 1,000 gifts (equivalent to $100,000 in matching funds).
• New one-time gifts and newly-established recurring gifts are eligible for the match (installments of previously established recurring gifts are not eligible).
• Gifts of any size are eligible.

This summer, the Career Center and Multicultural Alumni Network (MCAN) are collectively funding 210+ student experiential learning opportunities. Meet three of this year’s interns and fellows, and support students like them with a gift to the Annual Fund!

We are already halfway through June! Our numbers are looking strong as we head into Reunion Weekend. Big thank you to our volunteers and donors who have led us this far. Onward to June 30!

Leeya Rose Jackson is a multidisciplinary artist, art director, designer and dancer from Detroit, MI living in Minneapolis. Her work celebrates the intersections of identity, specifically Blackness, femininity, and queerness.

Congrats to the Class of 2022! Carleton's 148th Commencement ceremony took place on Saturday, June 11. If you missed it live, you can enjoy a recap or watch the archived recording!

Today is the Class of 2022's final day as Carleton students. Tomorrow, these 484 students will become Carleton’s newest 484 alumni. As they start this next chapter, their paths will take them many different places:

• Jobs at employers like IBM, Microsoft, Ernst & Young, Boston Consulting Group, Denver Schools of Science & Technology and Helena Autism Therapy Center;
• Research opportunities at institutions including the National Institute of Health, the Federal Reserve Board, and the Environmental Law Institute;
• Fellowships at organizations including Opera Omaha, Saga Education, and the Union for Contemporary Art;
• Further education in programs at the Mayo Clinic, Yale University, and the University of Minnesota;
• Service opportunities like AmeriCorps
• And so much more!

Our campaign is off to a strong start—in fact we're already more than one fifth of the way toward our dollar goal! Volunteers, keep up the great work!

As they prepare for their next chapters, members of the Class of 2022 are enjoying their final moments as students with Senior Week programming. Bubble soccer on the Bald Spot is always a favorite activity!

The first five NEW campaign advocates to bring in five NEW campaign donors will earn an Alumni Annual Fund blanket. It's fleece on the front and water-resistant on the reverse, which means its perfect for all your summer picnics!

In May, Carleton’s Admissions team officially welcomed 549 Carls to the Class of 2026. 

The newest Carls hail from 46 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and 30 countries. This group set a number of Admissions records for Carleton: 

• A total of 8,583 applications received
• More than 41% of Class of 2026 domestic students identify as people of color
• Nearly 16% of the Class of 2026 are first generation college students
  

While recruitment and admission are important steps to building a more diverse and inclusive Carleton, supporting these students once they’re admitted is just as important. Make a gift today!

The Annual Fund plays an integral role in supporting Carleton students, wherever their stories lead. Each year, nearly 40% of Carleton alumni support their alma mater with a gift to the Annual Fund.
