Celebrating the newly established

Without a pause, most of our teachers will let you know that one of their very top priorities at Burke’s is supporting diverse classrooms that are representative of the world around us. Your support will celebrate our faculty’s dedication to our students and fuel their mission to build successful classrooms where students come from a range of cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and learning styles. This not only positively impacts every Burke's student today, but also honors our responsibility to help the broadest possible group of girls gain access to a Burke’s education. We provide a highly respected program that creates resilient, determined, empathetic, and confident leaders of tomorrow. However, our financial assistance program can serve only 21% of our population and Burke’s remains unaccessible to many families.

Our faculty know from experience that the most dynamic classrooms are those where diverse perspectives are represented and teachers and students are challenged to think deeply with endless curiosity. We can bring out the best in every student by supporting a school culture where your children are exposed to a wide range of ideas and students from varied backgrounds, and then take those experiences with them into their lives as members of their families, high schools, higher learning experiences, careers, and ultimately the greater community.

With this year’s Fund-A-Need, we pledge our enduring support to Katherine Delmar Burke’s legacy of educating, encouraging, and empowering girls. This fund will support a vibrant school community where our students and faculty members thrive side-by-side in the classroom and beyond.

We encourage you to donate whatever amount is meaningful to your family. Every gift will make an important impact on our community.

Here's how your donation can support students needing financial assistance:

    • $40,000 provides one full scholarship for a student
    • $20,000 provides a 50% scholarship for a student
    • $10,000 supports the many essential needs for a family to be part of the school community, including uniforms, school supplies, after-school classes, musical instruments, and more
    • $5,000 helps a family on financial assistance with needed tutoring or extra support
    • $2,500 covers the lunch program for a student on financial assistance
    • $1,000 supplies the device, software and app subscriptions, and tech support for a family’s one-to-one device provided by Burke’s
    • $500 secures access to an at-home internet subscription for a family for one school year
    • $250 funds a student’s uniforms for the year
    • $50 covers a student or teacher’s lunch cost for a week
