Bloomsburg University and the Bloomsburg University Foundation are honored to announce the Claudia J. Thrush Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Fund is a tribute to the life and legacy of Claudia Thrush and will fund a permanent memorial on BU’s campus. Additionally, funds raised will ensure Claudia’s children have funding to complete their college degrees. It will also support an annual scholarship to a graduating student at Bloomsburg High School majoring in business.
Claudia grew up in Bloomsburg and attended Bloomsburg area schools, graduating from Bloomsburg High School in 1988. Claudia continued her education at Bloomsburg University and graduated in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. She then obtained a master’s degree in management from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, in 1993. For over 23 years, Claudia was employed by Bloomsburg University in various management roles, most recently as the Vice President of Finance and Administration.
The Claudia J. Thrush Memorial Scholarship intends to preserve Claudia’s impact on the University and the world by granting a scholarship to a Bloomsburg High School student who shares Claudia’s educational and career interests and allows them to follow a path similar to Claudia’s professional endeavors.
