About

On this #GivingTuesday, we invite you to be a part of Bethany's Bright Future. Your gift supports student programs and scholarships allowing students to participate in Bethany's holistic education.

During this time of Thanksgiving we are highlighting events and activities that have made a big impact at Bethany in the classroom, on the stage, and in athletics.

Not only is Bethany celebrating the highlights from this year but we are anticipating the completion of the new elementary wing. It will be a joy to offer this new space for our youngest students in the fall and the addition of Bethany's first kindergarten class.

By the way, the first kindergarten class will be known as the class of 2037. Let's be thankful and help pave the way for their Bright Future!

Thankful for plans and construction!

At Bethany, we are thankful for the building plans and construction for the future. Bethany’s new elementary wing plans to open in the fall of 2024, adding space for art, elementary, and kindergarten classes.

Construction is still in progress and slightly ahead of schedule. We are thankful for EF Hooley Construction (Eric Hooley is an 1975 alum) and the work they are doing.

Thankful for achieving goals!

At Bethany, we are thankful for achieving goals. The boy's soccer team with the leadership of head coach Tony Janzen, completed a feat not achieved by any previous sports team by winning Bethany's first IHSAA State Finals! A lot of determination and perseverance allowed this team to achieve the highest honor, a state championship.

Meanwhile the boys and girls basketball teams have started their seasons. The girls team is currently 6-0 and they are chasing a repeat of making it to the state finals again this year. They were IHSAA state runner-ups last year!

If you are in Goshen, check out the athletic schedule and watch the Bruins compete. (All home games are streamed online at https://www.bruinsvision.net/)

Thankful for the outdoors!

At Bethany we At Bethany, we are grateful for spending time outdoors. In October, the 8th graders traveled to Shades State Park near Crawfordsville, in central Indiana, for two days of hiking.

Meanwhile, the 7th graders camped overnight at Amigo Centre and learned to cook meals over fires they built. And the elementary students headed to Quaker Haven to spend time learning about trees and enjoying the outdoors.

Thankful for performances!

At Bethany, we are thankful for high school performances. Talashia Keim Yoder has directed many plays over the years, and this year, she directed The Curious Savage. We are thankful for Talashia's leadership as well as the dedication and effort of the student cast and crew in making our audiences laugh and cry!

This year's Music on the Lawn was the same weekend as Homecoming. It was a pleasure to host Bethany alumni to this year's event. Brook Bennett, Danielle Svonavec, and Aaron Johnson directed the orchestra, choir, and band in their performances. We are thankful for music talent and training allowing our students to shine in their performances.

Thankful for the harvest!

At Bethany, we are thankful for the harvest. Adam Friesen is Bethany’s first outdoor education teacher. He shares his love of nature with Bethany's elementary students. Through his direction, students learn about God’s abundance and harvest fruit to make yummy elderberry jam!

Amy Thut is Bethany's biology teacher. She has been planting raised beds to grow vegetables and fruits for science class but also for Tara Swartzendruber Landis, director of food services and the farm-to-table program, to use in the cafeteria. Having fresh vegetables to eat at lunch is a normal part of the day at Bethany.
