In 1889, a group of citizens in Franklin came together in support of the future of their town and with the goal of providing young people with the skills and tools necessary to move past the conflict of the Civil War. Those skills and tools were to be an education taught at Battle Ground Academy.
Today, Franklin and BGA look A LOT different than they did in 1889, but the importance and the value of a BGA education remain. Just as the students in 1889 were dependent on the founders to provide the resources necessary to deliver a BGA education, the BGA Fund is our opportunity to make sure that today's students have what they need in order to benefit from our elevated educational experience.
Through support of the BGA Fund and participation in today's Founders Day of Giving, you have the chance to provide our teachers with meaningful and relevant professional development opportunities; ensure that we are teaching Character, Scholarship, and Excellence; extend teachable moments beyond the walls of a classroom; and teach students how to take an active role in their own educations.
