The Environmental Club at Baltimore City College seeks to build a garden in one of our school courtyards. The goal of this project is to turn an underutilized courtyard into a lively and social area of the school where students are welcome to come study, socialize, and de-stress in a beautiful green environment.
This project is focused on creating green space because it absorbs rainfall rather than creating runoff. This new section of the school will also be utilized as an area where teachers can bring out their classes for a fun, outdoor alternative to indoor classroom learning.
This project is also part of City's larger effort to become a certified green school. Successful completion of the application will allow us to continue our efforts to make the school more environmentally friendly and allow us to continue with future “green” projects.
The Environmental Club has already secured $1,500 from various grants; however, to fully complete this project, we will need your help. We are looking for $4,500 to add garden beds, seating, and a Japanese rock garden. We thank you for your support!
Note: Only gifts over $250 will receive a formal tax acknowledgement letter in the mail.
Wow! That was quick. We’re already 10% of the way to our goal! Great job!
Let’s keep the momentum going by sharing this page with 5 friends and family members and encouraging them to make a gift: http://gvcmp.us/hj9k1g.
Together, we will turn an underutilized courtyard into a lively and social area of the school where students are welcome to come study, socialize, and de-stress in a beautiful green environment.
City Forever!
