The Augsburg Central Health Commons is a nurse-led drop-in center located in the heart of Minneapolis that serves people who are experiencing homelessness or whom are marginally housed. Many times people come to the Augsburg Central Health Commons (ACHC) seeking things such as socks, underwear, or basic nursing care. During the pandemic, the amount of people who have come to the ACHC in search of a place to rest has increased. Also, many people report not feeling well or having a poor nights sleep and are exhausted. Therefore, we are attempting to raise money to buy a recliner for people to use in our space, in a quiet room offering both privacy and rest. Please help us purchase a new, wipeable recliner to allow for our guests to a resting room at the ACHC!
Hello!!
We are so incredibly thrilled to announce that we have exceeded our GTTM 2021 goals and raised $5,570 THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!! We not only reached our goals to create a Resting Room for the Homeless, but we raised the most funds in a single campaign for the Augsburg Health Commons since being a part of GTTM in 2012. And, we also want to send a special thanks to our match gift provided by Jon and Cheryl Bogen.
We cannot thank you enough and any extra funds will be used to purchase blankets, supplies, and other items to help provide comfort to our guests especially as the winter begins.
With the deepest of gratitude,
Katie Clark, Mark Beenken, & all of us at the Augsburg Health Commons
