The Augsburg University Archives has recently received a collection of historic films from that were pulled from the attic in Si Melby Hall. These films document the football team, and they are almost at the end of their playable life. To help celebrate Augsburg during its 150th anniversary, we have a goal of raising $5,000 to send these recordings to a studio that can preserve and digitize them so that we can share them online.
The films date from the 1940s to the late 1970s, and include:
- A game between Fort Riley and Camp Grant in 1943 (during WWII);
- Scenes of Edor Nelson and other Augsburg Athletics staff;
- Games against Macalester, Hamline, Concordia, St. Thomas, the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and more.
To be digitized, each film must be played in real time by a trained professional using state-of-the-art equipment. Our history is worth it!
Donations that take us beyond $5,000 will support additional archives digitization projects. Thank you for helping us preserve Augsburg's history!

Thank you for your support of Augsburg University's Give to the Max Day! Thanks to you and 1,566 other friends of Augsburg, we were able to raise $417,846 for projects across campus. We are blown away by your generosity and excited to see your donations in action.
Go Auggies!
