Dr. Glenn O. Workman, Jr. of Cumberland, Maryland dedicated his life to the game of tennis and to the education of students at what used to be Allegany Community College. Dr. Workman began his work at the College in 1968, and was the head tennis coach for nine seasons. Inducted into the NJCAA Men’s National Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame in 1995, Dr. Workman left quite the legacy at ACC through his achievements as a tennis pro, and also as an educator.

On May 11th of this year, what is now Allegany College of Maryland has the distinguished honor of dedicating its newly renovated tennis court complex to Dr. Workman and naming the courts in honor of him and his family. This presentation will be attended by the friends, family, students, and colleagues of Dr. Workman to help honor his work and achievements at the College.

The ACM Foundation is asking for YOUR help in raising funds to support the Glenn O. Workman, Jr. Tennis Fund. This fund will be used to support and enhance the tennis court complex at Allegany College of Maryland so that students and community members will be able to enjoy the courts for years to come. Whether you are a former student, former athlete, friend or family member, your financial support of this fund will allow ACM to honor Dr. Workman and his achievements well into the future.
