Generation9000
By Theresa G Kennedy
At each Alcorn State University National Alumni Association Mid-Winter Conference (MWC), classes meet to discuss their annual giving as a class. Unfortunately, there has not been an organized effort before now to promote, encourage and actually give to the Alcorn State University Foundation of persons who graduated in classes of the 1990s through the 2000s.
At the 2016 MWC, a group of persons representing various classes but not all, have now formed to do such. Generation 9000 is made up of those persons who graduated in classes of the 1990s through the 2000s.
· 2016 Fundraiser Goal: $10,000 by Homecoming 2016
· There is no minimum. Give what you can as often as you can by July 30, 2016.
· Funds raised via Generation 9000 will be designated “unrestricted” with the Alcorn State University Foundation.
· We will use multiple mediums to promote Generation 9000, such as: e-blasts, social media, and printed pushcards. (Sorry, no mailings.)
· Hopefully, this campaign prompts more activity amongst graduates in classes of the 1990s through the 2000s.
· Please use the official hashtag: #gen9000 when posting on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
