Mulvaney Family Challenges

Thanks to the generous support from Karen and Tom '77 Mulvaney, we have $100,000 in bonus funds to help you multiply your impact on Torero Tuesday!

Timed Challenges
*Units can win a maximum of 2 timed challenges

Early Bird Challenge
The top two performing colleges, schools, departments or program with the most unique donors between 7-8 am PST will be awarded bonus funds for their unit! The highest performing unit will be awarded $3,000 and the second highest performing will be awarded $1,000.

Coffee Break Challenge
 The top two performing colleges, schools, departments or program with the most unique donors between 10-11 am PST will be awarded bonus funds for their unit! The highest performing unit will be awarded $3,000 and the second highest performing will be awarded $1,000. 

Lunch Hour Challenge
The top two performing colleges, schools, departments or program with the most unique donors between 12-1 pm PST will be awarded bonus funds for their unit! The highest performing unit will be awarded $3,000 and the second highest performing will be awarded $1,000. 

Happy Hour Challenge
The top two performing colleges, schools, departments or program with the most unique donors between 5-6 pm PST will be awarded bonus funds for their unit! The highest performing unit will be awarded $3,000 and the second highest performing will be awarded $1,000. 

Night Owl Challenge
The top two performing colleges, schools, departments or program with the most unique donors between 9-10 pm PST will be awarded bonus funds for their unit! The highest performing unit will be awarded $3,000 and the second highest performing will be awarded $1,000. 

Day Long Challenges

Athletics Raise the Bar Challenge
We are challenging each athletics team to hit a specific goal of alumni donors or achieve a higher alumni participation than the year before! Each team to surpass their 2023 Torero Tuesday participation will receive an extra $1,000 in bonus funds!

Parent Challenge
Once 250 parents make a gift $2,500 in Bonus Funds will be unlocked to support the Parents Fund/Toreros in Need. 

Alumni Affinity Challenge
When 15 alumni donors to each make a gift of $50 or more supporting an affinity award, that alumni affinity group will be awarded $2,500 in bonus funds.

Farthest from USD
The farthest away Torero who makes a gift on Torero Tuesday will win an extra $2,500 for their area of choice. 

Advocate Challenge
The top 5 advocates with the most gifts made will earn  $5,000, $4,000, $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000, respectively, to support the units and initiatives that mean the most to them. The top three ambassadors will also win a fabulous Torero Swag Bag! 

Social Media Challenge
Whether it’s a throwback photo of you and your roommate, your Torero student visiting campus for the first time, or your dog decked out in Torero Blue, post a public photo to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using #ToreroTuesday and give a shout out to the college, school, department, program, or area you want to support. The area you tag will have a shot at additional funding. 5 winners earning $2,000 each will be selected.

Help Find Lil' T
Calling all on-Campus Toreros! Diego Torero has lost his favorite stuffed animal, Lil' T. Follow @uofsandiego on Instagram for clues for you to help bring Lil' T home! Each returned Lil' T will result in a $2,000 cash prize donated to the on-campus organization of the finder's choice.
