The Black Student Union works to cultivate an inclusive culture for Black students on campus. Your contributions will allow the Union to bring in speakers, performers, and other resources for Black students at Middlebury—and will also help us bring more members to conferences held by larger Black organizations outside of the College.
Evolution Dance Crew is a performing arts organization now celebrating its 10th anniversary. Our mission is to combine global diasporas of dance with fresh and exciting choreography to create pieces that show the evolutionary trend of urban dance. Your donations will support transforming campus spaces to be used by student organizations involved in dance and performing arts.
FIRE: FosteringInclusive Recreation Experiences
Fostering Inclusive Recreation Experiences (FIRE) runs outdoor trips for students of color, led by students of color. Our trips include hiking, backpacking, canoeing, rock climbing, snowshoeing, fishing, and our most popular activity—skiing. Your contributions will help us to better meet the overwhelming demand we have for skiing lessons and equipment, so we can get more students out on the slopes of the Snow Bowl for the first time.
International
Students’ Organization (ISO)
The International Students’ Organization (ISO) promotes and cultivates a strong, open-minded, and critical multicultural community within Middlebury, spreading cultural awareness among students and faculty, advocating for inclusivity, and celebrating diversity. Your donations will help fund trips to Vermont’s museums, farms, state parks, and other outdoor settings for international students, who often have very limited means of transportation.
Middlebury Diversity in Business (MiddDIB)
MiddDIB is a hub for Middlebury students of color to connect with mentors, learn about opportunities, and get access to additional diversity programs. As a pre-professional organization, we seek to make career opportunities more accessible to students from underserved backgrounds. Your contributions will help fund initiatives including trips to Burlington to help students create a professional wardrobe for interviews, case competitions, and internships.
Middlebury
Intervarsity Christian Fellowship
The Middlebury Christian fellowship strives to spread the Good News and foster a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered community on a secular campus. Your donations will make a powerful impact by directly enabling otherwise-impossible initiatives including group retreats for community building and education, service and mission trips, and more comprehensive campus-outreach endeavors.
PALANA is the Pan-African, Latinx, Asian, Native American multicultural student organization. We work to create spaces for inclusion and diversity on campus, host events centered around identity and rooted in BIPOC joy, and expand the opportunities available to students of color at Middlebury. Your donations will help us upgrade our communal house furniture, fund student projects that create community and positive social impact, and support our “Palana stole” tradition for seniors.
RIDDIM World Dance Troupe is an affirming space that embraces the exploration of an inclusive artistic process of dance and centers a diverse practice of dance forms with the desire to dismantle the tool of whiteness and how it operates in the world of dance. Every semester, we put on two SOLD-OUT shows for 800 students. Your donations will help us fund costumes, decorations, photographers, videographers, ushers, tech crew, and security for these performances.
South Asian
Students Association
The South Asian Students Association strives to create a space for individuals to build community and embrace South Asian culture. Your donations will help us to cook foods, perform dances, and host a wide range of events that celebrate traditions and practices with the broader community, fostering multicultural inclusivity. They’ll also support our hosting of academic symposia exploring South Asian society and culture through topics like the arts, politics, history, and economics.
Voices of Indigenous Peoples (VIP)
Voices of Indigenous Peoples strives to support the Native American, First Nation, American Indian, Pacific Islander and global Indigenous student diaspora on campus and to advocate on behalf of the global Indigenous student population to advance the goals of the Land Acknowledgement. Your donations will allow us to attend events and take trips to museums, powwows, and conferences; host supportive spaces for the Indigenous community at Middlebury; and continue to grow as an organization.
The Womxn of Color (WOC) club seeks to provide space on campus where women of all ethnic backgrounds can build community with others. We hold discussions about topics that WOC are not typically able to address in the classroom, as well as celebrate WOC in special events—our annual art gallery, black pearl ball, senior celebration, and weekly club meetings. Your donations will help us widen our campus outreach and support decorations and food for the black pearl ball.
