What is Giving Day?
Southwestern Giving Day is a celebration of everything our students and faculty have accomplished and what they can do with the support of our alumni and friends. We have set the ambitious goal of engaging 1,600 donors in 1,840 minutes. Beyond donor support, Southwestern Giving Day is a wonderful opportunity for the Southwestern story to be shared far and wide and for our alumni to reconnect with classmates.
What does the 1840 minutes stand for?
1840 is the year of Southwestern’s charter so to honor it, we will celebrate Southwestern Giving Day for 1840 minutes!
Is there a minimum donation?
No! All gifts made between 12:00 p.m. CDT on March 5 and 6:40 p.m. CDT on March 6 will count toward our goal of 1,600 donors.
Where should I give?
Your gift can be designated to any area on campus — the Southwestern Annual Fund, any academic department, any scholarship, any athletic team, any student organization, or any other part of Southwestern that means the most to you! We will have a lot of these options listed on our giving page, but please use the “Other” option if you don't see your favorite designation listed.
If I've already made a gift to Southwestern this year, how can I help?
We will need everyone's help to make Southwestern Giving Day a success! If you've already given to Southwestern this fiscal year (since July 1, 2023), we are looking for Giving Day Advocates to help share the message about Southwestern Giving Day with their classmates, friends, and family. You can sign up here to receive more information about being a Giving Day Advocate.
