What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. This year, #GivingTuesday runs for 24 hours on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 – from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. EDT. This is an opportunity to express what Holy Cross means to you and to support our students. 

Do I have to wait to make a gift on #GivingTuesday?

We’d love to count you in for Holy Cross’ #GivingTuesday! Make your gift early in the day, and then share with your network to increase the impact of your support.

Can I send my gift via the mail?

#GivingTuesday is time-limited, so we strongly encourage you to make your gift online on Tuesday, November 28. However, if we receive your check by November 28, with "Holy Cross #GivingTuesday" in the memo line, your gift will also be counted toward the day’s total. Contact our team at hcfund@holycross.edu – let us know so we can count your support.

Can I make a gift with stocks or securities or through a donor-advised fund?

Yes! Please call us at 877-433-1843, or email our team at hcfund@holycross.edu, to let us know, so we can count your gift; be sure to mention “Holy Cross #GivingTuesday.” To make a distribution to Holy Cross through your donor-advised fund, please contact your financial institution and include “Holy Cross #GivingTuesday” along with your gift designation.

I made a gift earlier this year. Will that count?

Thank you for supporting Holy Cross this year! For #GivingTuesday, we are counting gifts made specifically on Tuesday, November 28. However, your gift earlier this year will count towards your class and the College’s participation goals.

If you would like to be counted as a donor on #GivingTuesday, we encourage you to make an additional gift on November 28. 

I’ve already made my gift for #GivingTuesday. How else can I help?

Thank you for your gift! We encourage you to celebrate your purple pride within your Holy Cross social networks. Share the custom link provided towards the bottom of your electronic receipt and watch your impact grow! 

What are Holy Cross #GivingTuesday advocates?

You can advocate for Holy Cross’ #GivingTuesday by reaching out to your network of alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students – share your purple pride and encourage them to participate by giving to Holy Cross on Tuesday, November 28. 

How do I become a Holy Cross #GivingTuesday advocate?

To learn more about being an advocate, visit the Advocate tab on this campaign. Share messages to support #GivingTuesday, inspire your network by creating a challenge or a match, or tell your own story by creating and sharing your own personal video. You can even track the impact of your outreach!
