Offer a Match or Challenge

Inspire your friends, classmates, and fellow Pipers by using your gift as a matching gift or challenge gift.

Matches and challenges are similar, but the key difference is how they encourage participation. A challenge is milestone-based—for example, if 100 people donate, I will give $250. A match is based on gifts or dollars donated—for example, I will match every dollar given, up to $500.

Matches and challenges can be any dollar amount—the goal is to inspire participation and encourage your peers to support Hamline.

As you consider your own donation, leverage your gift by offering a match or challenge and encouraging others to participate.

Consider restricting your match or challenge by class year, program, or campus area to raise the stakes and encourage participation.
