Through funding from the Naval Academy Fund, Alumni Support Services expanded its commitment to alumni and their families by launching the Spouse Support Program and Medical Facilitation Program. Gifts supporting Experiential Leadership Development (ELD) at the Naval Academy directly shape the way midshipmen learn to lead. Through immersive, hands-on programs such as Outward Bound, the Gettysburg Leadership Encounter, and wilderness expeditions, midshipmen are challenged to lead teams, make decisions under pressure, and reflect on their values in real-world settings.

Supporting the Mental Mission ~ Academic Excellence:
The Academic Excellence Fund, managed by the Provost’s office, provides financial support for a wide variety of academic operational needs across the Yard. The largest use of the fund is devoted to midshipmen development and student success initiatives. This fund allows the Provost’s office to allocate funding to emerging needs across the academic footprint of the Yard as they arise.
Philanthropic funds provided through the Academic Excellence Fund are essential for maintaining the high standard of academic excellence at the Naval Academy. Appropriated funds are not always available to respond with agility to meet the needs of a curriculum that must evolve to keep pace with the increasingly complex world that our graduates enter as offices.

Your philanthropy supports the Fund for Athletic Excellence, sport-specific initiatives and facility improvements, separate from Blue & Gold funding. These resources enhance the athletic programs, providing midshipmen with the tools and environments necessary to excel in sports, build teamwork and develop leadership skills through competition.
