The story of the WIU carillon began in 1939, when Kappa Delta Pi gifted a set of bells to the University at a cost of $3,000.

Over the decades, the original system and its successors have required replacement and restoration as technology aged and failed. Each time, members of the Leatherneck Community stepped forward to preserve a tradition that had become part of the University's identity.

Today, we face that opportunity once again.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to unlock a $25,000 challenge gift, providing $50,000 for a modern, reliable carillon system and its long-term care.
