Note: These events are intended for current GVSU students. Faculty and staff may attend if they wish to join-in.
We’re putting our own Laker spin on the Cash Cab game show! Institutional Advancement staff will be driving a golf cart around campus and quizzing Lakers on their GVSU and philanthropic knowledge. Participants will have an opportunity to win cash to donate to one of the participating student organizations.
Thank you to 48 West for supporting this event. With their gift, participants who get 5 Cash Cart questions right will get to designate $50 to one of the participating orgs.
Sharpen your sleuthing skills and get ready for the Thanks-a-Bunch Scavenger Hunt! As part of Student Philanthropy Week, eight plush squirrels will be hidden around the Valley Campus, with clues to their location being posted by @GVSU on Instagram. Students who find the items will have an opportunity to choose one of the participating student organizations to receive an extra donation.
Thank you to Mike '11 and Rachel Goorhouse '12 for supporting this event. Because of their gift, students can donate $125 to a participating student organization for each scavenger hunt item found.
Do you think your organization has what it takes to impress the sharks? This fully virtual “Shark Tank”-style competition gives any participating student organization the chance to compete for challenge funds and show off your creativity along the way. Participation is optional for Student Philanthropy Week organizations, so opt in if you are ready to make your pitch to our panel of alumni judges. Concludes Friday, October 9; winners announced on October 12.
Thank you to Steve '78 and Betsy Carlson for their generous support of this event. The top overall organization will receive $500, the most creative will earn $250, and the most innovative will receive $250.
