A match or challenge happens when a donor pledges to contribute a set amount in direct proportion to gifts that come in. Think of it as a power boost: for every $1 another donor gives, the matcher adds $1 of their own until their pledged amount is fulfilled. For a challenge, once the campaign reaches a set number of donors or a specific dollar amount, the challenger’s pledged funds are released and added to the total.
Setting up a match or challenge is easy! Just enter the amount, choose your ratio (like 1:1), and add any optional conditions — such as targeting a particular donor group.
Why do matches and challenges work? Because Jackets love seeing their impact instantly multiplied. It creates real‑time momentum, builds a sense of team energy, and inspires more people to jump into the action.
