What is Giving Day?
Giving Day is a 24-hour event when our community comes together on campus and online to celebrate what we love about GFS and collectively support the Annual Fund.
When is Giving Day?
Giving Day 2026 begins at 12:01 AM (EDT) on February 12, 2026 and ends at midnight (EDT) on February 13, 2026. We will gladly accept gifts from alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends all over the world who may fall outside that window.
How does my gift matter?
Giving Day is about the impact that we make together and gifts of all sizes are welcome! On this day, your contribution has a bigger impact than usual. When we reach our goal of 500 gifts, we will unlock a minimum of $100,000 for the Annual Fund, thanks to the generosity of our challenge donors, who are made up of alumni, a parent of alumni, grandparents, and current parents and staff.
What does my gift support?
The Annual Fund supports every corner of GFS and is an essential part of our annual operating budget. The Annual Fund allows each division to say "yes" to new ideas and programs and helps sustain innovative programming for students, faculty, and staff. You may choose a designation that matters to you: Greatest Need, Academic Programs, Arts, Athletics, DEI, and General Scholarship. Families of the senior class can direct their gift to the Class of 2026 Senior Gift.
Will my name and donation amount be visible on the campaign page? Your name and affiliation will appear on the campaign page unless you choose to remain anonymous, and your donation amount is not listed unless you offer a match. (To offer an anon match, please contact GFS).
I'd like to give to GFS, but via my Donor Advised Fund, stocks, or through an IRA distribution. Will this still count towards Giving Day? Yes! Please call the Advancement office at 215-251-2340 or email advancement@germantownfriends.org, and we would be happy to assist you.
