Why does my involvement in Samford Giving Days matter?

Your investment is a show of support for current and future Bulldogs and makes an immediate impact on the Samford community. Samford Giving Days increases engagement and awareness for alumni, students, parents, employees and friends about important university initiatives. From sharing about Samford Giving Days on social media to making a gift of any size, your participation also inspires other Bulldogs to join you in caring for students.

Where does my gift go?

It’s up to you! You can direct your gift to a particular project or fund – like a scholarship, department or school you feel most passionate to support. There are other funds, though, that allow Samford to respond to various student needs. The Samford Fund supports many areas of campus and gives campus leaders the flexibility to meet the most immediate needs. Other unrestricted allocations are sometimes called an “Excellence Fund.” If you ever have any questions about where your donation goes, we’d love to help! Email us at philanthropy@samford.edu. We certainly want you to be comfortable with your gift designation.

Can my gift of any size really make a difference?

Absolutely – your contribution is incredibly powerful no matter the amount! Your gift tells students that you believe in them and their futures. When combined with other gifts, it builds momentum and adds up to make a huge impact. This ensures that Samford can adapt to the needs of students and continue the tradition of excellence. 

I don't see the designation I want to support. What do I do? 

If the designation of your choice is not in the drop-down menu, select “Other” and type in the full name of the fund.

How do I give to more than one area of campus? 

Select your first designation in the dropdown menu of the main giving form, then click the “+ Add Another” text just below. This will add another dropdown menu, and you can either choose another designation from the list or select “Other” and type in the name of the next fund you would like to support.

Is my Samford Giving Days donation tax deductible as allowed by the IRS?

Yes. You will receive an official tax receipt in the coming weeks.
