What is Pi Day of Giving? Pi Day of Giving is Harvey Mudd College’s tradition of uniting to commemorate Pi Day (3.14) and create new opportunities for students to thrive. Parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends raise vital funds that empower the College—whether through scholarships, cutting-edge research opportunities or programs that inspire innovation and community.
When is Pi Day of Giving? Pi Day of Giving is on Saturday, March 14, 2026, but you can show your support for students by giving early and helping us reach our goal of 800 donors.
How can I participate? There are many ways to give back! Become an advocate and rally the Mudd community to participate in Pi Day of Giving. Post content and share it with your network to raise awareness and inspire engagement. Connect with HMC friends and family via phone, email, text and social media. Make a gift of any amount and encourage others to follow your example. You can even challenge the Mudd community by using your gift as a challenge or match.
Where does the money raised go? Gifts designated to the annual fund enrich our community by supporting financial aid, scholarships, transformational educational experiences in the classroom, community engagement opportunities, spiritual life, student health and wellness initiatives, and more. When the College’s greatest needs are fulfilled, we are able to take on emerging opportunities from a position of strength.
Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes, gifts to Harvey Mudd College are tax-deductible as permitted by law. The College will provide you with a receipt for your gift.
Can I specify where my donation goes? Yes, you can specify the area or program you wish to support with your gift. The annual fund supports financial aid, scholarships, transformational educational experiences in the classroom, community engagement opportunities, spiritual life, student health and wellness initiatives, and more. If you wish to support another fund, please use the “other” designation and write in your desired fund.
