About the Women’s Leadership Academy (WLA)

At Loyola University New Orleans, the Women’s Leadership Academy (WLA) empowers professionals to achieve their highest leadership potential through a unique blend of executive-level development, mentorship, and community. Since 2019, WLA has prepared more than 250 leaders from diverse industries to step confidently into roles of greater influence, impact, and purpose.

The program brings together nationally recognized experts, dynamic keynote speakers, and a powerful network of peers to provide participants with an immersive leadership experience. Each participant is paired with a hand-selected mentor, engages in accountability growth groups, and develops an individualized leadership plan. Over the course of ten in-person sessions, participants gain actionable skills, meaningful connections, and the confidence to lead with authenticity and vision.

Past speakers and mentors have included:

Our alumni include CEOs, nonprofit executives, entrepreneurs, educators, health professionals, attorneys, and public servants who credit WLA as a transformative experience. As one graduate shared:

“WLA was a transformative experience for my career and confidence. When I began the program, I was a front-line manager. Through WLA, I realized that not only am I a leader, but a great one. Today, I am the Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing for Power Delivery at Entergy New Orleans. WLA gave me the confidence I needed to lead from the front.” — Alexandra Plaisance, WLA Alumna
