How does the donor match work?

Any gift made, in any amount will also be matched with an additional $100 per donor (joint gifts with a partner count would be matched with $200). For example:

• $25 from one donor is matched with $100; from two donors, is matched with $200
• $100 from one donor is matched with $100; from two donors, is matched with $200

How do I make a joint gift?

The best way to indicate that a gift is made jointly is to write both donor names into the "Name" field.  Doing so enables our team to verify that your gift is made jointly, and as such, that the matching amount of your gift would be $200 rather than $100. 

Can I give anonymously?

Yes, absolutely!  There is a checkbox on the donation form to indicate that you would prefer to remain anonymous that says "Please do not display my name."  All anonymous donors and gifts will still count toward the Giving Day 2025 totals, but names will not appear in the list of recent donations online, nor in future publications of Carolina Friends.  If giving jointly, and anonymously, please still enter both names in the "Name" field.  

Can I designate my gift to a specific program or unit of Carolina Friends?

Yes, you may choose how your donation is designated for use by Carolina Friends.  When you choose to give to "Greatest Need," your gift enables the School to provide even more to our students.  And when you choose to give to "Tuition Support," your gift supports adjusted tuition.  You may also write in another designation on the form, if you so choose.  (Our team may wish to contact you after Giving Day to ensure we understand the intention of your gift).

How can I pledge service, and how does the service pledge work?

Our Carolina Friends community is very philanthropic, and each year, we celebrate those in our community who choose to give their time in service of nonprofit organizations all across the globe. To celebrate this wonderful philanthropy, a group of matching partners has pledged an additional $10,000 gift that will be released to Carolina Friends when our community has made or surpassed 100 service pledges, so please consider clicking this link and pledging service at a community organization of your choice. 

Can I make a donation using Venmo or PayPal?  Do I have to give online?

Yes!  You can give online and donate with Venmo or PayPal as a part of the online giving process here on our campaign page (there is a donation maximum for both of these providers, however).  You may also give by bringing in or mailing a check to Carolina Friends School at 4809 Friends School Road, Durham, NC 27705, postmarked by Friday, October 24, to count your gift toward the donor match.
