During the Islamic calendar month of Ramadan, Muslim families across the globe fast from sunrise to sunset. Iftar means "fast breaking" and is the meal eaten at sunset to break your fast. Ramadan is a special time of the year that allows individuals to re-connect with their family and communities and also to give in charity. In the spirit of giving and sharing, Service Unit 51-11 is using this as an opportunity to raise awareness about SHARE, the Girl Scouts annual giving campaign. SHARE supports girl scouts through covering registration fees, uniforms and supplies as well as training for adult volunteers and maintaining our local campsites.
