What is Knight & Day of Giving (KDOG)Knight & Day of Giving is 24 hours of collaborative fundraising to support the Providence Country Day School. This year will be our 12th annual Knight & Day of Giving.

Why Do We Do This? It’s an opportunity to rally the entire Providence Country Day community - alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends - to support the Annual Fund. Gifts raised during KDOG help cover the costs of educational programs, transformative field trips, ambitious school projects, financial aid, and faculty development.

Maybe You’re Asking Yourself, “Why Should I Give?” Supporting the mission of educating future leaders requires a great level of commitment from a dedicated community. Every contribution made during KDOG helps ensure that PCD will remain strong and continue to provide accessible, high-quality education that produces graduates who will become responsible citizens of the world.

Who can participate in the Day of Giving? Everyone in the PCD community is invited to participate and make an impact, including alumni, parents, grandparents, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the school.

I was part of Henry Barnard School before it joined PCD, why should I support KDOG at PCD? Gifts designated to PCD Lower School will support the continued legacy of HBS, and will be used to benefit the students and faculty in grades PreK-4. Your gift helps cover expenses such as equipment and supplies for specials like Chess, STEAM, Art, Library, etc., recruiting and retaining exceptional teachers, and to provide special experiences and programs for students such as the Wild Life explorations program and field trips.

Can I specify how my donation is used? KDOG focuses on raising funds for the PCD Annual Fund, which supports all aspects of the student experience. You can direct your gift to six specific areas within the Annual Fund: Area of Greatest Need, Knights Athletics, Arts, Financial Aid, the RoboKnights (PCD's Robotics Club), and, as already mentioned, PCD Lower School.

Can I make a recurring gift? Yes, you can make a recurring gift by selecting that option on the Giving Page.

Is there a minimum donation amount? No, participation is what truly counts during KDOG.

Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes, all donations to PCD are tax-deductible to the extent law allows. If you donate online, you will immediately receive an acknowledgement via email, as well as one mailed to your home, which you can use for tax purposes. If you make your gift by check, cash, or stock transfer, an acknowledgement will be mailed directly to your home.

Can I give stock for my KDOG gift? What about a Qualified Charitable Distribution? Yes, you can give in stock; and those who are eligible (aged 70 1/2 and older) can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from a tax-advantaged retirement account. Please contact us if you wish to make a gift in this way.
